| Founded in June 2008, the SOS Fernand-Seguin Forest committee has for mission to protect the forest
located on the Chateauguay and Lery city limits, as well as its surrounding natural habitats. It also
has for goal to preserve the
"Green-Belt", an area spreading from the Fernand-Seguin Ecological Center to the protected territories of the Saint-Jean creek and the Saint-Bernard Island (Refuge Faunique Marguerite-D’Youville). The conservation of this natural corridor is essential to ensure the sustainability of its very unique flora and fauna and to keep providing the local population with outdoor and nature-related activities. |
